What is Soteria

Soteria is a speaker protection board developed to monitor amplifier-related fault conditions and disconnect the loudspeaker when operating conditions move outside the intended range. Its role is not signal amplification or power filtering, but load protection between the amplifier and the speaker.

The product overview describes Soteria as an intelligent protection system with negative-voltage detection and self-powered operation from the amplifier supply. That design approach reduces external wiring requirements and allows the protection stage to be integrated directly into the amplifier environment without a separate dedicated supply.

Electrical limits are specified at up to +50 Vdc supply voltage, 100 Vac maximum speaker voltage, and 10 A maximum speaker current. These limits define the operating envelope of the board and indicate that Soteria was designed for speaker lines that may see substantial voltage and current under normal amplifier use.

Because the board derives power from the amplifier side and monitors for harmful conditions, its practical function is to add a layer of protection without changing the core signal architecture of the amplifier itself. The old product material also describes it as suitable for rear-panel integration, which aligns with its compact format and its intended use as an embedded protection stage.

The board measures 60 mm x 73.5 mm. In technical terms, Soteria is a compact protection platform for systems where speaker safety, negative-voltage event monitoring, and simple amplifier-side integration are required.
